Star Axis for Team Happily
In the fall of 2023, Team Happily engaged me to produce a retreat for one of their clients. The zenith of the retreat was dinner at Star Axis, a naked eye observatory nearby Las Vegas, New Mexico. The work is a creation of Charles Ross.
I worked closely with the account executive from Team Happily and the client to create an experience that was moving for the guests, aligned with the client’s business needs, and worked within the bounds of this under construction piece of art.
Star Axis is slated to open in 2026
Star Axis and its view of the night sky are sights to behold, but in order to make it ‘speak’ I worked with Dub Lab to bring on Sevda Choir who sang in the chambers before and after dinner.
Because it’s land art and not a facility, dinner required bringing on a caterer that could pull off cooking a meal without a permanent kitchen. Guests dined inside of a transparent tent so they could be beneath the night sky and have an unobstructed view of the work.
